Busy Week!

We have had a busy 10 days at our house.

It started last week on Wednesday. Kevin was working late, so I was driving home from AWANA alone with the girls. We were about 2 miles South of Moorhead on Hwy 75 when 3 deer sprung out of the ditch and although I slammed on my brakes, I couldn't avoid the inevitable collision. Here is the damage. It is pretty remarkable that this is all that happened to the van. No one was hurt (except the poor deer) and in fact, neither girl even knew what happened. Jordyn's first words were, "What was that?" and Addyson slept through the whole thing. We offered a lot of 'thank you' prayers that night. The van is currently spending some time at the body shop.

Friday morning Matt & Ashley, Kevin & I flew out to Chicago for 'Weekend to Remember', a marriage conference put on by FamilyLife. We arrived early enough to enjoy a couple quick hours downtown doing the tourist thing, including checking out the American Girl store which is remarkable. They even have a salon where you can take your American Girl dolls to get their hair done. We enjoyed the conference a lot and strongly recommend it for any married couple looking to deepen their relationship.

Monday morning I noticed Addyson tugging on her ear, so I took her in to the doctor to make sure her last ear infection had gone away and not come back, and while she has fluid in her ear that is probably bothering her, there is no infection. The good news we received is that Addyson has gained 3 pounds 2 ounces in the last month. WOW! That is a lot of weight for any baby in a month.

It was a beautiful day on Tuesday, so we spent some time outside enjoying spring.

Addyson's Easter dress was crinkly and I guess it bothered her a little because she wouldn't let her arms touch the dress. She just sat there with her arms up in the air.

Once we put her sweater on she was fine. Silly girl!

Thinking about crawling...

Many people seem to find it unusual that Addyson is not yet crawling. In fact, she hasn't even shown signs of wanting to crawl. She just likes to sit on the floor and play with whatever is within her reach. I haven't been worried about it, but it has crossed my mind a few times that maybe I should worry.

Tonight we had our usual tummy time and she started to show some of the early crawling signs like lifting her butt off the floor a little and using her arms to move herself. She did manage to turn herself almost 90 degrees while chasing her favorite doll.

What do you think? She'll be 10 months old next week. Should I worry that she isn't crawling?
