Showers, VBS, and Family

It has been a couple weeks since our last update and we have been staying busy with Baby Showers, VBS, and family visits.

Addy continues to sleep through the night almost every night which is so great for me! She is now 6 weeks old and has changed so much already. She is so alert when she is awake. We are really getting to know each other and she is becoming a momma's girl. She had her first REAL smile on Wednesday. I have not captured it on film, but I'm working on it. Here is a current picture of her and one with my grandpa Adolph.

Jordyn and Sara gave Addy and I a great baby shower this week. It was so much fun... THANKS SARA and JORDYN! Here are a few pictures from the event. The cake was so cute and delicious that I need to share a picture of it.

Jordyn just finished VBS this week at Eagle Valley. She had fun - and she was happy that none of her parents were involved this time. The poor girl does not get a lot of opportunity to participate in activities that at least one of her parents isn't involved in. This is a picture of Jordyn and her good friend Renae. They are going to Crystal Springs Baptist Camp together in August... just like Shannon and I used to do when we were their age.

This weekend is LOCODAZE in Dilworth - a fun Community event that we look forward to every year. Kevin's family has come to Dilworth to join the festivities and many of our friends will make their way over tomorrow. The big parade goes right by the front of our house and our friend Eric will attempt to defend his Karaoke championship that he won last year. It should be a great day. I'll share pictures soon!

Sleeping through the Night!

On Monday night Addyson ate at 10pm and went to bed at 11pm. This is a typical schedule for her. I woke up at 6:15 am, laid in bed for a few seconds and realized that she didn't wake up for her usual 4am feeding. I FLEW out of bed in a panic and checked on her and she was (of course) just fine. I was so proud of her for sleeping through the night but figured it was just a fluke - she is only 4 weeks after all.

Last night she did it AGAIN! She woke up about 6:30am this morning for the first time. I'm still assuming it's a fluke... but WOW! I have been sleeping better with a newborn than I did during my entire last trimester of pregnancy. I love it.

Family Reunion Extravaganzas!

This past weekend, Kevin and I both had family reunions to attend, so we were very busy! We spent Saturday at Chahinkapa Park in Wahpeton with the Viland family. There was a little swimming, a little "zooing", a little game playing, a little eating, and a lot of visiting. It was such a fun day!

To the Vilands: Dennis is going to send me his pictures on a CD. After I receive those images, I am going to work on putting together a slide show of the best pictures. I will send this out to every via CD or email (depending on the size).

Here are a few pictures from the day.

Kevin, Tom, Dave, and Tim playing lawn games.
Paul, Heather, Madeline, and Aaron hanging out in the grass.

The Lewis kids held an impromptu talent show - here is Joey doing a little dance for us.

Jessie and her bright blue eyes!

Jacob and Paul playing ladder golf

Audrey is so cute riding around in her stroller.

We spent Saturday night and Sunday morning lakeside in Graceville at the Spaulding reunion. Kevin had a great time visiting with his cousins - some he hadn't seen in years. There were lots of little girls running around. Sunday was a very windy day but the cousins all decided to play a round of golf anyway. Kevin is still talking about what a great game he played. Here are a few pics from the Spaulding reunion... I'll try later to load the pictures. For some reason they won't load right now and Addy just woke up so I need to go take care of her. Thanks for checking in with us.

A Day at the Beach!

On Wednesday, we spent a fun day at the Buffalo River State Park with my friend Gina and her two kids Quin and Kenadi. This warm weather has been so great. I really love summer.

4th of July

We had such a great Independence Day. I enjoyed spending quality time with my husband and my girls. We stayed very busy, as usual.

We spent the afternoon at MSUM's 'Old Fashioned 4th of July' Celebration. Addyson slept in her stroller almost the entire time and Jordyn played games. Jordyn played a basketball game to win us all t-shirts. (Kevin & I were unable to win them on our own)

After a fun afternoon at MSUM we headed home. Our friends Tanya and Paul came for dinner and boys vs. girls game of ladder golf. We won't talk about who won the game.

When it got dark, we went to watch the big fireworks show at MSUM. It was a pretty good show as always. When we got home we teamed up with our neighbors and had our own fireworks fun. Us moms sat on the side with the little kids while the dads had more fun with the fireworks than the older kids did.

What a fun day!

Concordia Photos

I took the girls to Concordia's campus so I could take a few amateur shots of them. I even dressed them the same (hee-hee).

Yes, I do take WAY too many pictures.

Addy and Papa Spud hanging out.

Addy and her "great" Great-Aunt Nancy

Addy sleeping in her crib - is it too bright for her? or is she embarrased and she just can't face us? Either way, we thought it was adorable!

The Breuer charm doesn't seem to be working on Addy! Give it time Caleb. In a few years she'll be following you all over and you'll wish she'd just leave you alone.

Will and his great summer haircut that his dad gave him. Nice work dad!
