I'm 30!

I turned 30 today - yikes! My best friend Carrie came from Phoenix yesterday. She surprised me with a facial at Hair Success today. That was a fun treat!

BEFORE! (for an after picture, check out the party pictures)
Later I was surprised by many friends/family at Applebee's! I showed up almost half an hour late because I didn't realize anyone was waiting for me. Ooops! Thanks to everyone who came and thanks to my husband for organizing it.

Kevin and I - I'm wearing a "30" crown and a lot of beads!

As an additional surprise, my cousin Angela decided to have a baby today! Welcome to the family, Mira Mae. She shares my birthday and she is the same weight that I was 30 years ago. She was even born around the same time that I was. She is absolutely beautiful - congratulations Jimmy and Angela! I will never have an excuse to forget her birthday.

Baby Boom and Girl Scouts!

On Wednesday, Sara and I took our Girl Scout troop to Thunder Road for an afternoon of fun. If you are not familiar with Thunder Road, it is an amusement center in Fargo with Go Karts, Bumper Cars, Mini Golf, Batting Cages, and an Arcade. It was so much fun to see the girls - some we haven't seen since school was over. This is our fourth year with some of the girls, so we have grown quite fond of them. 11 of our girls attended the special summer event- a pretty good turn out for the middle of the week! Here is a picture of my girls at Thunder Road with a couple little sisters too.

We are experiencing a BABY BOOM at EVEFC (our church)! 6 babies were born in 3 months (April, May, and June). Of those 6 babies, 5 are girls! Danica (one of the babies) had her baby shower at church on Thursday night. I was there looking around and I realized that 4 of the 6 babies were at the shower... unfortunately they were not all awake at the same time so I couldn't get a group picture, but I did take individual pictures. The two babies missing are Emma and Esther - TWINS! (Before Addyson was born, our top three name choices for her were Addyson, Danica, and Emma. Funny huh?)

In addition to those 6 babies, my cousin and his wife had their baby today. CONGRATULATIONS Ryan and Laura and WELCOME Baby Cora! They live in Minneapolis now, but when they are home visiting their families, they also attend EVEFC - so Cora makes 7!

2 months and 30 years

It is hard to believe, but Addyson is 2 months old already! Here are a few pictures of Addy from bath time. She LOVES taking a bath. She likes to hang out in the bath tub and splash around a little, but her favorite thing is to have dad run the faucet over her head! Post bath is one of my favorite times of the day because she is so alert, so calm, and smelling GREAT!
Addy just had her 2-month well-baby appointment yesterday. She is now 12 pounds 13 ounces and 24 inches long. WOW, she is growing fast. I'm so happy to have this time at home with her watching her grow and change each day. She also had vaccinations at her appointment... ouch! She has had a low grade fever for the past 24 hours, which I believe is a result of the 3 shots she received. Poor baby!
Addy loves sticking her head under the faucet
Relaxed and checking out dad after bath

What big EYES you have...

Jordyn just returned from Crystal Springs Baptist Camp yesterday. She had a fun filled 4 days at camp. This was her first camp experience and she is already planning to go back next year. We haven't taken her film in to be developed yet, but when we do I'll share more pictures. I went to this camp when I was a kid and I always loved it. When I dropped Jordyn and her friend Renae off at camp, I had the opportunity to walk around and see the camp. Many things have changed which made me sad! I seem to resist change more and more with each year... speaking of years, I'm turning 30 in a few days! YIKES. I'll let you know how that goes.

The Blues Brothers at LocoDaze

Eric Varriano came to Dilworth during LocoDaze last year and won the karaoke contest, so he was excited to come and defend his title this year. This year he performed 'Soul Man' from the "Blues Brothers" with his friend Chuck. They were even dressed in the "Blues Brothers" standard black suits - they looked GREAT, a lot like their characters! Dilworth was buzzing about their performance and they won 1st place again this year. I'm sure they will be back again next year in an attempt to make it a three-peat. Kevin said he felt famous ... people he didn't know were talking to him because he brought them.

Dilworth LocoDaze

Two posts ago I mentioned Dilworth LocoDaze. My SIL (sister-in-law) Sarah said that she couldn't wait to see pictures from that weekend and that triggered the thought that I hadn't posted any yet. So if you have been breathlessly anticipating those pictures, I apologize for the delay!

Our niece Jaycee came with her mom for the weekend festivities. She is a great cousin to Addy and even read her stories.

We had horse sleigh rides (see picture of Jaycee, Jordyn, our friend Eric, and Kevin). That's right folks, they are on a horse sleigh ride, NOT a wild rollercoaster.

There was big blow-up games from Games To Go that the kids played on (picture of Jordyn and Jaycee in the cute green dresses).

We also had motorcycles and cool cars at the parade (this parade even shuts down Highway 10) and Jordyn had a lemonade stand. It was supposed to be HOT so we expected BIG sales, but the weather was pretty mild and so were her lemonade sales.

Say Cheese!

I have finally captured some fun smiles on camera! I know I'm a little biased, but she is so adorable!
